FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Denim & Diamonds Gala Raises Over $150,000 for Charities!

LOVELAND, COLO., March 7, 2008 Hunter’s Dream for a Cure and co-sponsor, Poudre Valley Hospital raised more then $150,000 at Craig Morgan’s Denim and Diamond Gala. Four hundred and thirty five guests attended the gala at the Budweiser American Eagle Distributing center.

The money was dedicated to the treatment and cure of Sturge Weber Syndrome and other children’s neurological disorders, as well as the Poudre Valley Hospital Children’s Orthotic and Prosthetic Fund.

The gala began with a cocktail reception where VIP guests were treated to beer and specialty drinks provided by Budweiser and a private meet and greet session with country western song artist, Craig Morgan. The evening included dinner, a silent & live auction, and a private concert.

We were truly blessed with a tremendous evening of entertainment from one of Country Music’s hottest stars Craig Morgan.  Craig touched everyone with his personal connection to the foundation and wowed the crowd with his hit music, as well as auctioning off his personal guitar for $3,600”, said Robb Nelson, Executive Director of Hunter’s Dream for a Cure.

Former Denver Broncos player, Dave Diaz Infante, Mudflap from KYGO and Todd Harding from K99 not only helped assist the event through their presentations but entertained the guests.

The event started with a dinner provided by Kenny’s Steakhouse at $250 a plate followed by a silent auction, which included more then 100 items donated by local Front Range businesses. The live auction raised more then $53,000. Items auctioned included: a quarter horse, an autographed Garth Brooks Collectors Edition CD display, a Ft Knox gun safe, gift certificates, a variety of trips including airfare and hotel accommodations, and more.

Guests had the opportunity to take personal photos with Morgan, win prizes for their entry in a game of Blackjack, and purchase desired items from the silent and live auctions.

“Jerry Helgeson, owner of the North Collins Distribution plant, and his staff were generous in their contributions toward the cause,” said Patty Twogood, Hunter’s Dream for a Cure foundation director.

Many volunteers assisted in making the event a success!  Over 50 students from local Sororities and Fraternities, as well as the Silver Wings from Greeley, jumped in to help by donating their time with the auction, food & beverage service, and clean up.

“I am rarely at a loss for words,” states Nelson, “The First Annual Craig Morgan Denim & Diamonds Gala was a heart warming “Party with a Purpose”! We were amazed by the generosity of so many people in Northern Colorado who previously had never been exposed to one of our events or Hunter's Dream for a Cure.” It was another clear example that despite the challenges that these children face “It is not about the limitations but the possibilities”!

The event was sponsored by: Poudre Valley Hospital Foundation, Budweiser, Water Valley, K99, KYGO, Coloradoan, Roper, Iron Mountain Autoplex, Digi-Pix, Marcus and Millichap, Mountain Valley Health Care, Pacific Framing, Pikes Auto Care Center, Signature Bank, Journey Homes, GLH Construction, and Hayden Outdoors.
